My Role
I joined Pencil Spaces as the sole product designer in January 2025. Since then, I've led design across the product with a focus on improving the operational infrastructure that helps teachers and admins host classes and lessons. Here's a look at a few of the projects I've had the pleasure of working on.
1/ Cumulative Sessions View
To help admins track activity across their organization, I designed a session history log supporting billing and session quality monitoring. The core challenge was presenting three distinct session types (online, hybrid, and external) while clearly indicating whether each session was tied to an event or had a recording.
Each session can carry different information, from billing and events to recordings. I designed a scalable system that accommodates all these variations, giving admins a single source of truth for everything happening within their organization.
2/ Data Visualization
I designed an analytics dashboard giving admins visibility into teacher and student performance across key metrics: teaching quality, attendance, and student engagement, with the goal of showcasing the overall impact of sessions on student progress.
3/ AI-Powered Dashboard Builder
Different institutions care about different metrics, so a one-size-fits-all dashboard rarely tells the full story. I designed a dashboard builder that lets admins create tailored data visualizations aligned to their goals. By simply describing what they want to track, AI generates the relevant metrics and cards automatically, eliminating the guesswork of knowing what to measure in the first place.
4/ Billing and Payments
Created the billing page to give users clear visibility into their usage and activity each month. Since Pencil Spaces operates on a usage and overage model, the page helps admins stay informed and avoid unexpected charges.
5/ Profile Creation
I designed the profile creation flow to create a strong first impression, giving new users a sense of delight and a clearer picture of what Pencil Spaces has to offer from the moment they sign up.
